CHAIN BLOCK OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS 2025/02/17 17:04:54

Pre-Operation Inspection

Before any lifting operation, thoroughly inspect:

1. All hooks for damage or deformation

2. The load chain for wear or damage

3. The brake device for proper function

4. Lubrication points for adequate coverage

Safety Rules

1. Load Capacity: Never exceed the rated capacity of the chain block.

2. Chain Configuration: Maintain proper chain alignment - avoid twisting or capsizing of two-fall chains.

3. Lift Range: Operate within designated lift limits - avoid extreme upper or lower positions.

wps_doc_1

4. Chain Condition: Cease operation immediately if chain kinking is observed.

wps_doc_2

5. Load Movement: Never drag or pull loads at an angle - maintain vertical lift only.

wps_doc_3

6. Chain Resistance: If the hand chain becomes difficult to move, stop immediately and inspect the mechanism. Never apply excessive force.

wps_doc_4

7. Safety Zone: Strictly prohibit working or passing under suspended loads.

wps_doc_5

8. Equipment Handling: No wild throwing or rough handling of chain blocks.

wps_doc_6

9. Multiple Blocks: Never use more than one chain block to lift a single load unless specifically engineered for such operation.

Maintenance

1. After operation, clean the chain block to remove dirt and store it in a dry place to prevent rust and corrosion.

2. Clean the chain block annually by cleaning all parts with kerosene and applying grease. It is recommended that the cleaning work should be performed by skilled technicians.

3. The "O" marks on the two disk gears should be aligned properly.

4. Position the rollers of both left and right bearings against the inner race of the bearings on the chain sprocket shaft journal, then install them into the outer race of the bearings on the side plates.

5. When assembling the brake mechanism, ensure proper meshing of the slanting teeth between the ratchet disc and the pawl. Verify that the pawl is controlled by the spring sensitively and reliably. After screwing the hand wheel onto the driving shaft, turn it clockwise - it must press the disc and plates against the brake seat. When turning counterclockwise, there should be clearance between the disc and the plates.

6. The stay and the right side plate have a transition fit. Care should be taken not to dismantle them.

7. After cleaning and repair, the chain block should undergo both no-load and heavy load testing. If it operates normally, it can be put into service.

8. Keep the friction surfaces of the brake mechanism clean during lubrication and operation. Inspect the brake mechanism frequently to prevent faulty braking or load dropping.

9. For maintenance and dismantling convenience, one of the links in the hand chain is left open and not welded.
